Just glancing through the list of tasks, he was surprised at some and amazed by others. Rare woods interested him. Just picture the specialized furniture that he could make and the system credits it would sell for. He finally filtered the list of all tasks he was qualified for and found the list had more than 100 items on it, and items were still being added. This was going to be a great project. A miner in the hills near Stone Teeth looked disappointed as he saw the first message come in.

This was the wrong project, and now he would never get people interested in mining in the area. Finally, he opened up the task list, and after looking at dozens of useless tasks on it, he found the filter for the qualified task option; he expected nothing. But to his utter shock, he saw more than 40 tasks he qualified for, and some were dependent on things he could do. They needed ore delivers to Forgeworks, iron, and the requested amount was so high it would take 50 miners a month to gather that much.

It wanted coal and two other metals, none of which he knew where to find. And new stone deposits also. Maybe this would not be so bad after all. A builder in Westward Village opened the project task list and stared. They needed to build the Grand Sawmill Complex, worker housing, drying sheds, storage yards, road expansions, and bridge improvements. He immediately accepted three tasks; he had really not cared what project won, work was work. A teamster looked over the transportation section of the project task list.

There were lumber rounds, draft teams needed, freight contracts, and timber hauling. The project needed wagons. Lots and lots of wagons. He picked four tasks from the list that were available to start right away and then left to start on the first of them. A boat builder was shaking his head at the notice. This was not what he wanted. He wanted more work, and this is just not it. The carpenter beside him looked thrilled, and he asked him why.

And the man asked did you not read the project task list there are 5 different boat-building tasks that can be taken and started today. This project will be great. They were always short on lumber, and that would not be a problem soon. An explorer was looking through the survey tasks and was pleased to find that there were more jobs available than he would have guessed.

They had a triple premium contact for rare wood, and he knew last week he had stumbled across a place in the forest with some different type of tree and grabbed that task off the list. He picked up tasks for future logging sites and resource surveys, all of which he could do on the way to find the rare trees. A Lakeside resident looked at the project map. Most of the project was not in lakeside but two logging camps were being established here by it. More workers, more traffic, more trade.

He was so happy that his village would grow; it had been too small for too long. A westward villager looked at the project map and saw that their village was a huge winner. Many projects nearby. The village would grow, trade would increase, logging, mining, construction, transportation, and carpentry—it was all needed, and there were plenty of tasks. He looked at the project leads' positions and was happy that he qualified.

The system said it would review his application and let him know when the application process completes. Meanwhile, he grabbed one of the tasks available that he would start today and went to work. Throughout Silvermere people reviewed the task lists and accepted assignments and made plans. Some were excited, others were disappointed. But most quickly realized that the project was not just a logging mill. The Timber Consortium was larger than anyone had imagined or guessed.

This was the start of a full-blown logging industry. From tree to river to mill to finished lumber. Then continued through construction, manufacturing, and regional trade for lumber. The village council for Northridge was looking through the requirements list when they stumbled upon the trade contract section. They had to find and create ten export contracts with at least five different regions. No one on the council has traveled outside the region they lived in.

They had trade contracts that were set up with the help of that Mark guy that was here a week ago, but they had no clue how to find others. As a group they decided they would send an express rider to find Mark and ask him to come back and help them figure out how to do regional trades. Maybe even hire him to go find and establish those contracts for them. Multiple members of the council applied for one of the ten main positions, and others found and accepted contracts that were in their area of skill knowledge.

This was going to be an interesting time for them. They had thought this a small thing and found that it's much bigger than any of them had ever guessed. All in all, the council was happy with the new direction that the zone was going in.
