The villagers welcomed the Iyrmen tentatively, but upon hearing the fights would soon to begin, with an excited swiftness, they hurried to bring out the various foods and desserts, and to send word to those out farming nearby to return quickly for the clash of steel, for Iyrmen were to be fighting. The disappointment in seeing a young half elf step forward, he who was no Iyrman, flowed through them like nausea.
However, as he stepped forward, the youngest of the other group, who was in his forties, also stepped forward, undoing the strand of celestial hair from his metal bow, which unflexed to form a metallic club.
"I have a great respect for you to step forward young man, so use your axe as you please," the fair skinned fellow said, who spoke the Aldish tongue with an Aswadian accent, and though he looked Aldish, his style was certainly Aswadi.
"Thank you for your mercy," the other youngster replied, returning back to a set of children, dropping to a knee, taking the axe from a green skinned girl. The girl made to speak, but the half elf pouted, causing her to pause.
"Do you see how cool he is?"
"Yes," Jirot replied, though she wasn't sure how the fair skinned man was cool, except she knew he was cool.
"I need to do something cool too," Adam whispered, pressing his forehead against the girl's, feeling her warmth against his forehead.
"Hmm…" Jirot then leaned in to whisper into the half elf's ear.
"Oh! That is cool!" Adam admitted, standing tall and proud, approaching the fair skinned warrior, beaming with such innocent joy.
"Boy!" Faizal shouted.
"Show mercy to him!"
"Of course, of course," Adam replied.
"I was talking to Boy." Adam realised that made much more sense, for Faizal didn't feel close enough to call him boy.
"Your name is Boy?"
"Bowyer, but since they raised me from a child, I am Boy," Boy replied, letting out an awkward sigh, though the smile on his lips was more than obvious.
"Okay, so I get that your name is Boy, because you are the youngest, that makes sense, but… your name is Bowyer, and you use a bow?"
"Yes," Boy replied, for it wasn't the first time someone had mentioned something like that. Boy smiled politely.
"I guess my name is Trouble McFather?" A scoff from behind him, and then a whisper saying that was funny caused the half elf to flush, for though he heard it often recently, he was always delighted to hear such words from his daughter.
"I have a great respect for you, Mo, in exchange, I will not use my magical sabre," Boy said.
"Then, I will give you the first attack," Adam replied with the arrogance he had held this entire time. Boy narrowed his eyes.
"Very well." Battle Order D20 + 1 = 13 (12) The half elf held out his fingers and beckoned Boy forward, and the pale skinned fellow leapt forward, and as his bowblade blurred through the air, the half elf's shield raised high, and his open palm followed. Mana: 39 -> 38 Spell: Shield Defence: 26 -> 31 As Adam willed forth his magic, his open palm guided the bowblade away from striking him, and as Boy stared at him in utter shock, he withdrew his bowblade as the half elf reached for his axe.
"I suppose it's my turn." Fighting Spirit: 3 -> 2 Attack: Heavy Axe (Advantage) D20 + 11 = 20 (9) D20 + 11 = 29 (18) Critical Hit! Mana: 38 -> 35 Ability: Divine Smite 8D6 + 8D6 + 9 = 87 (39)(39) 87 damage!
As Adam's axe blurred through the air, Boy leapt out of the air, flipping away from the half elf, but the axe approached his head, and he spun his bowblade, clashing against the axe, but the might of the half elf's strength, and the blow of the axe, empowered by a smite, forced him to fly back, scattering across the floor as he tumbled away, skidding to a halt near the edge of the crowd, groaning.
He rolled onto his side, wincing, and stood, brushing the dirt off his armour and shalwar, and then pointed with his whole hand. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
"What bukwas is this?" Boy declared, turning to look towards his companions, who side eyed one another, and then looked aside to Afraz, who brushed through his beard.
"Betta, didn't I ask you to show mercy?"
"Aha, jiddo, sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to, it just so happened to be that way." Adam chuckled, smiling awkwardly, even though Afraz wore the widest grin.
"Then you must show the next warrior more mercy," Afraz said, motioning Faizal to step forward.
"I'm not going to step forward after that!" Faizal replied, also holding his whole hand out towards the half elf.
"Is he a Grandmaster? A Paragon?"
"What nonsense do you speak, akh? He is obviously only a Master?"
"A Master? Do you think I am a fool?"
"Do not ask that question when you know."
"If he is a Master, I am an Expert."
"You are a Grandmaster, he is a Master, this is all true," Afraz stated, shrugging his shoulders.
"Jiddo is right, I am only a Master, so please don't worry." Adam continued to smile politely, beckoning Faizal with a pair of fingers, stating their battle perhaps would be impolite.
"I am not fighting!" Faizal declared, turning to look to his companions, one who remained hidden in the shadows, and the other who looked to Flame Brand, and then to Faizal.
"I will not fight Flame Brand's grandchild, who is like my own nephew," Winding Cloud Sword said without any hint of shame, waving towards the half elf, who waved back, saving his heart.
"If you do not wish to fight me, you may fight my brother," Adam offered, motioning towards a well built Iyrman who wore a face of stone.
"Although, every time we've fought one against one, I'm pretty sure I haven't been able to defeat him."
"Akh, please," Faizal whispered.
"What kind of monsters have you brought?" Afraz smiled innocently, shrugging his shoulders.
"Betta, why don't you and your brother sit, and you can send one of your cousin?"
"I guess we can't send Taygak, she's too strong," Adam mused, causing Taygak to furrow her brows, and to side eye him the same way her niece would.
"Tana, Cho, would you like to step forward?"
"If we step forward, I fear Kitool may kill us," Cho joked.
"Kitool? Why does Kitool need to step forward at this time?" Adam refuted, his eyes snapping towards Chosen, his brows furrowed in a way that suggest he was about to beat Chosen, his smile suggesting he was about to say something stupid.
"If it was a Fariq Thanwi or a Fariq, that should be enough to satisfy her, not some random people we meet on our journey." The villagers turned to glance between one another, because wasn't he talking about…
"If you beat us, how can we speak our tales?" Faizal asked, holding the half elf's gaze, hoping his blank look would be enough to protect him.
"Daddy, in times like this you must show mercy, for that is one of the Mother's precepts, Mother Sozashukhur," Jirot said, holding out her hands as though she had prayed, and then blew forward, and made a motions as if to cause her prayer to float towards her face. She peeked up towards her mother, who smiled, for the girl had spoken so wisely, and Jirot flushed slightly, her lips forming a proud smirk.
"Do you see how my daughter bullies me by growing up too fast? If I do not beat one or two Grandmasters, how can I hold my head up high?" Adam asked, with the kind of audacity that only he could show, especially after how many great warriors he had fought that day.
'I may have riled him up too much,' Afraz thought, but a smile continued upon his lips.
"Akh, we have drank together as the evening fell upon us a hundred times, and now will you betray me so?" Faizal asked.
"Fine, fine," Afraz called, dismissing him with a hand, and after letting out another sigh, holding Faizal's gaze, as if to state that it was he who claimed victory this day.
"Betta, let us show them mercy today?" Adam narrowed his eyes towards the group who had dared to say they did not care for the presence of his children, but seeing the utter bewilderment on the half elf woman's face, he sighed, placing his axe away.
"I call you my jiddo, so I can do at least this much for you."
"Do you see how well behaved my grandson is?" Afraz called, reaching out to grab the half elf's shoulders, pulling him in for a tight hug, patting his back, causing the half elf to flush once more.
"Since I am my daughter's father," Adam confirmed, his lips forming a proud smirk.
"Ah!" Boy exclaimed, pointing at the half elf with his bowblade with accusation.
"You are the Crazy Father!"
"Aha! That's what the Aldishmen call me."
"It was you who caused such trouble for the Florian King, and slew a Fariq Thanwi of High Garden!" Adam continued to hold a smile on his face, though there was no joy, emanating a grave danger.
"So I did."
"It is said you defeated the Elder of Amber!" Boy continued to exclaim, as though he were a side character who was espousing for the sake of the reader.
"Once or twice." Adam clapped his hands, because there was something Boy wasn't allowed to say in relation to his most famous feat.
"Well, since my tale is being spoken of, shall we start with our tales first?"
"Akh, what kind of monster is he?" Faizal whispered, his heart breaking with every passing moment, for the half elf was too much.
"You dare to call my grandson a monster?" Faizal's eyes remained glued to the half elf.
"If he is not a monster, what is he?" Afraz chuckled, reaching up to pat his friend's back.
"Consider it your fortune you are my friend, Faizal, for if it was anyone else, would he listen?"
"Daddy! You fought well!" Jirot declared, holding up a fist, the pair bumping fists. It was her idea that her father deflect his bowblade with his fist, which was so cool.
"Brother! You ended the bout too quickly!" Lanarot cried aloud, now growing annoyed by her brother's strength.
"How was I meant to know he was only a Master?"
"You should know because you are so wise."
"Lanarot, are you ill?" Adam asked, placing a hand upon her forehead. Lanarot blinked.
"Who! When! Why! You are! Who give? You think you are so funny?"
"Yes."
"How incorrigible."
"Not you too!"
"Incorrigible!" the girl declared, pointing her finger at her brother.
"Ikaboo!" Amalrot agreed, clapping her hands once, squealing.
"Et tu, Amalrot?"
'What a terrifying young man.'
