The woman chuckled, but instead of leaving, she sat down in the chair next to him.
The swivel chair turned gently, and she crossed her legs, the dark green skirt sliding down from her knees to reveal a section of her calf covered in flesh-colored stockings.
She was wearing a pair of black pointed-toe stilettos, with a small rhinestone adorning the shoe.
She tilted her head to look at Lin Zhou, her toes lightly tapping the ground at a steady pace.
The toes of the high heels drew tiny arcs in the air.
"Little master," Her voice was soft and slow, each word seeming to linger on the tip of her tongue before being uttered.
"Do my legs look good?"
Lin Zhou glanced down at the safe, then looked up at her legs, then looked down at the safe again.
Then he said, "It's alright."
The room was silent for a second.
The comments section was filled with laughter.
"It's alright, hahaha."
"Your answer is brilliant, host!"
"He says it's okay, but his eyes say it's definitely okay."
Did you notice that the locksmith's hands were trembling slightly?
"He actually fixed the lock! I'm so happy!"
"I heard a thousand words in those two words, 'It's alright'."
Lin Zhou inserted the tool in his hand into the emergency keyhole, gently twisted it with his fingers, and felt the feedback of the marble inside.
Actually, he can open this lock in three seconds.
This lock is really bad – the lock cylinder has been forcibly turned, and some of the pins inside are deformed and stuck in the middle.
The normal way to open it is to use a tool to push the deformed marbles back in one by one.
With his technique, three seconds would be enough.
But he didn't move.
His hand slowly turned inside the keyhole.
His facial expression was very focused.
His brows furrowed slightly, as if he were not facing a civilian safe.
It was the door to the Swiss bank's vault.
The movements were very slow, extremely slow.
The comments section started buzzing.
"Fix it, then fix it!"
"Why is the 'Three-Second Lock Picker' slow today?"
"Stop pretending, we know you're capable in three seconds."
"He wasn't fixing locks, he was practicing spiritual cultivation."
"We're not in a hurry to fix it, really."
"Where did that impressive air of unlocking the door in three seconds go?"
"Host: Some locks need to be savored slowly."
Lin Zhou pretended not to see the comments and slowed down his movements even more.
He even tried a different tool, pulling out a thinner wire from his small bag and reinserting it into the keyhole with practiced ease—but it still wouldn't open.
The woman beside him didn't urge him on; she just sat there with her legs crossed.
She picked up the white porcelain teacup on the table, placed the lipstick mark on the rim against her lips, and took a sip.
The tea has gone cold.
She frowned slightly and put the cup down again.
Her toes tapped lightly, her high heels swaying gently in the air.
The room was very warm.
There was a faint sandalwood scent in the air.
About three minutes later.
The woman suddenly put her leg down, and her high heels tapped lightly on the carpet.
"Little Master."
Lin Zhou didn't look up: "Hmm?"
Are you deliberately dawdling?
Lin Zhou paused in his movements.
She stood up, and the hem of her velvet skirt slipped off the chair.
She walked up to Lin Zhou, squatted down, and looked him in the eye.
She reached out and took the wire from Lin Zhou's hand, her fingertips inadvertently brushing against the back of his hand.
Her nails were light pink and neatly trimmed.
"If you'd like to stay a little longer," She twirled the wire between her fingers with practiced ease.
"You can just say it directly; there's no need to use the lock as an excuse."
Lin Zhou looked at the tools she had taken away and remained silent for a second.
Then he took out a wire from his bag.
The woman's eyebrows twitched.
Lin Zhou inserted the new wire into the keyhole, twisted it gently with his fingers, and subtly turned his wrist.
His expression was calm, as if he were doing something insignificant.
"elder sister," He said this without changing his expression as he rotated his wrist.
"The lock is indeed broken, I'm not lying to you."
Click.
A crisp sound.
The lock is open.
The woman froze for a moment, almost dropping the wire she was holding between her fingers.
The barrage of comments instantly reached a fever pitch.
"Three seconds!"
"It's exactly three seconds since the second wire was taken out!"
"Hilarious, you've been pushed to the limit, haven't you?"
"The Locksmith King: I may be slow, but you can't question my expertise."
"All that dawdling just now was an act after all."
"He even switched tools to pretend."
"I give that a perfect score for showing off."
"My sister is completely dumbfounded."
Lin Zhou stood up and patted the dust off his knees.
Then open the safe door.
Inside, there were several stacks of red banknotes neatly stacked, estimated to be tens of thousands of yuan.
Several documents were placed next to the banknotes.
It was contained in a kraft paper file folder.
There were no words written on the bag.
There was also a small black velvet box in the corner, which looked like it was for storing jewelry.
Lin Zhou's gaze swept over these things, not lingering on any of them for more than half a second.
He closed the safe door and put the tools back into his small leather bag one by one.
"The lock cylinder needs to be replaced. Several pins inside are deformed. It was only opened once, and it'll probably be completely jammed next time. Replacing the lock cylinder costs 300, and unlocking it costs 200, for a total of 500."
He spoke in a very flat tone, as if he were reciting a price list.
The woman was still squatting on the ground, holding his wire in her hand, looking up at him.
Then she suddenly laughed.
His eyes curved upwards, fine lines appearing at the corners, and his shoulders trembled slightly.
She stood up, handed the wire back to Lin Zhou, and patted off non-existent dust from her skirt.
"Okay, bring the lock cylinder over tomorrow to change it."
She walked up to the safe.
Squat down.
Blocking Lin Zhou's view with his body, he entered the password to open the locker door.
Five red bills were drawn from them.
He closed the box door, turned around, and handed it over.
When Lin Zhou reached out to take it, she didn't let go immediately.
Two banknotes are held at opposite ends by the fingers of two people.
She paused, then looked Lin Zhou up and down.
My gaze slid from his eyebrows and eyes to his shoulders, and then to his hands.
Finally, the focus shifted to the miniature camera on his chest.
His tone carried a hint of genuine curiosity.
"You really came here to fix the lock."
Lin Zhou took the money, folded it twice, and put it in his pocket: "What else?"
The woman leaned against the table, tilting her head to look at him.
"Do you know what those girls upstairs do?"
Lin Zhou zipped up the bag, slung it over his shoulder, and didn't even look up.
"Great workers."
The woman stared at him for two seconds.
Then he burst out laughing.
It wasn't the soft chuckle she'd given before; she was laughing out loud, even covering her mouth with her hand. Her pearl earring swayed wildly with the laughter.
The screen was flooded with comments.
"Workers, hahaha, that's hilarious!"
"The lock-picking king's mouth is harder than a C-grade lock cylinder."
"Anchor: I'm just an innocent locksmith, I don't know anything."
"From today onwards, I'm a die-hard fan of the Lockpicking King."
"This episode is even more exciting than the last one."
"The entire neighbor's chef's livestream has turned up to watch the excitement; the number of viewers has surpassed 30, 000!"
"I suggest a collaboration between the locksmith and the chef, one to open doors and the other to cook."
