Ravetrisk extinguished the flames surrounding his sword and looked at Shigeru, Felicity, and Ethan's body lying on the ground behind them. Without warning, he pointed his blade at them and unleashed a tremendous shockwave. Their bodies were sent flying backward, smashing through one of the hideout's walls before being hurled outside into the scorching sand. The sunlight blinded them. Shigeru and Felicity got back to their feet. Ethan remained motionless on the ground.
They were now in the desert, among the ruins of Aqareth.
"Is he still alive?" Shigeru asked, staring at him. Felicity looked at Ethan.
"He was before…but now I'm not sure". Shigeru took a closer look at Felicity, particularly at the severely burned part of her face.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes…It's nothing. Let's focus on killing this guy now". Shigeru turned his gaze back to Ravetrisk.
"This guy is strong".
"He's a member of the Clan Sezur", Felicity explained.
"They can wield different elements of nature through their swords. Be careful". Ravetrisk smiled faintly.
"Being careful won't be enough to survive". He generated hundreds of thin, invisible slashes of air. Shigeru raised his sword in front of himself and created a transparent barrier. The attacks shattered against it one after another.
"You think that barrier is enough to withstand me?" Ravetrisk snarled.
"Let's see if it can withstand this!" He swung his sword horizontally toward them and unleashed an incredibly powerful blast of wind. Shigeru closed his eyes, planted his feet firmly in the sand, and held his sword in front of himself.
"Stay behind me!" he shouted to Felicity. The barrier began to tremble. Everything around them, however, was swept away. Debris, sand, and palm trees flew through the air like sheets of paper. Ravetrisk noticed that the barrier had held.
"Impressive… let's try another move, then". He drove his sword into the sand. The ground immediately began to shake violently. An earthquake spread around them, knocking Shigeru to the ground and causing the barrier to vanish. Ravetrisk took advantage of the opening and rushed toward him, aiming for his head with a slash of air. Shigeru managed to get back up and deflect it. Their blades collided, and a rapid exchange of blows began. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve.

"If I intervene, it would be dishonorable…" She tightened her grip on the blades.
"But a slaver deserves no honor". She took a deep breath.
"For this once, I'll forsake the honor of the Clan Prinz". She dashed forward and positioned herself between Ravetrisk and Shigeru, aiming for his throat. Ravetrisk blocked at the last second and struck her violently in the face with a headbutt, forcing her backward.
"Two against one…damn cowards". Felicity gave Shigeru a quick glance.
"I'll handle the offense. You defend. Okay?" Shigeru nodded.
"Sounds like the best idea". Meanwhile, inside the hideout, Elion and the others opened another cell. Several elves stumbled out, their heads lowered.
"You're saviors…thank you. Truly", one of them said.
"There are more this way", Makena said, pointing toward a corridor. As soon as they entered, the atmosphere changed. This corridor was different from all the others they had passed through. There was a terrible smell. The smell of death. They looked around. Numerous corpses lay inside the cells, dead for days. Insects even swarmed around some of them.
"Don't look", Elion told Agnes and Firmin.
"What a tragedy", Sven muttered. Makena drew a dagger and forced open the lock of a cell. Despite the stench, she entered and knelt beside the body of a woman. Two children lay beside her, a boy and a girl. They were no more than ten years old. A letter rested on the bed. Makena picked it up and opened it. She began to read.
"This letter will surely be burned or torn apart by some slaver, but I still feel the need to write it. Perhaps it will help me feel better about what I'm about to do. This place is hell. They barely give us enough food, and my children could be sold at any moment. Even if they aren't killed, watching them be taken away from me and knowing they'll spend the rest of their lives as slaves would destroy me. I cannot accept it. So I will do what I must. And if I go to hell for this selfish act…
then I will go there with my head held high. Even so… even now, as I watch them sleep peacefully, hand in hand, I wish someone would come and save us". Makena's eyes filled with tears.
"What does it say?" Sven asked.
"The words of a mother who hoped someone would save her… but we arrived too late". Outside the hideout, Ravetrisk was breathing heavily. They had been fighting for several minutes. In truth, more than an hour had passed since Ravetrisk's battle with Ethan began. Felicity raised her swords and generated a massive tornado. Ravetrisk responded with an identical vortex. The two tornadoes collided with a deafening roar and canceled each other out, releasing a devastating blast of wind. Ravetrisk changed elements.
Razor-sharp shards of ice formed at the tip of his sword, and he hurled them at them. Shigeru stepped in front of Felicity and created his barrier. The shards shattered against it one after another. Ravetrisk smiled. It had only been a distraction. Felicity and Shigeru looked up. A gigantic block of ice appeared above their heads and was hurled toward them at incredible speed. There was no way they could dodge it.
"Shit!" Felicity shouted. Shigeru saw it at the last second and created the barrier again, covering them both. The block of ice was dozens of meters across, and at that speed, its impact would be devastating. It slammed into the barrier and shattered it, but the ice itself also exploded into thousands of pieces. A cloud of sand rose into the air, obscuring their vision. The impact sent their bodies flying. Felicity coughed. Two shards of ice had pierced her body, one in her arm and the other in her thigh.
She gritted her teeth and pulled them out. Her face, already badly burned, still throbbed with pain. The injury was even getting worse. She looked around, searching for Shigeru. After taking a few steps, she saw him. He was lying on the ground. A large shard of ice had pierced his chest. Felicity rushed toward him.
"Shit…" Shigeru coughed up blood.
"Stay with me. Don't lose consciousness, okay? Stay awake", she said, trying to lift him. Shigeru took her hand and smiled weakly.
"Tell Elion…to…live…freely…" His breath faded. Shigeru was dead. Felicity lowered her gaze. She picked up her two swords from the sand. Then she slowly rose to her feet and turned toward Ravetrisk. He approached her.
"Another one is gone. Now you're the only one left, Prinz". Felicity stared at him with a cold gaze. She was ready to fight him again.
