Update: If you're here from the link on SCS, welcome! I knew RavensDagger was planning on putting one together, I just didn't expect for it to go up when it did. When I started this story I wasn't even planning on posting it. I have intense anxiety, which makes it hard for me to share things with people, I really didn't expect such a positive response. I'm not a professional author, this just started as practice for another story I'm planning to start writing soon.

Even so, thank you for all the positive feedback, spelling/grammar corrections, and general support that helped land me in the rising stars list. Something I'm not sure I deserve, but I'm grateful for. If this is your first time reading, I hope you enjoy. Finally, mine isn't the only SCS fanfiction, so I wanted to compile a list of the other fictions for you to look at. They may not all be to your taste, but hopefully there is something else here that'll spark your interest.

Displaced Samurai (by Rabiator) The Antithesis, plant-based monsters that will devour everyone in their way, have been plaguing the galaxy since thousands of years. Twenty-five years ago they reached Earth. The Protectors are an interstellar alliance that opposes the Antithesis. When the Antithesis attack her graduation party, Caitlin MacCallan is chosen by the Protectors to fight them. She will find more than just Antithesis to fight...

The Last Legion (by Theswerd) A former soldier looking for a quiet life becomes a "Samurai," a Vanguard of Humanity to defend against the Antithesis invasions. Unwillingly thrust back into combat he must work with the new voice in his head, an AI who guides and enables him, to hold the line against the dark. And when the barbarian Antithesis hordes are at the gates, who better to call on than the ancient Vanguards of Civilization? Halcyon Nightmares (by Aest Belequa) Alice grew up idolizing Magical Girls.

Now, she's one of them! When murderous machines attack Alice's graduation, she's asked to don the skirt and blazer. Now, she'll need to learn how to use her powers and work with a team of other Girls to protect her city from disaster - all while trying to get herself un-grounded! A Danse to the Death (by BurnedGirlRising) Things were fucked, and they didn't need alien plant creatures invading to get that way. Ava Kaminski has known that all her life.

Things were particularly bad in the megabuilding she had been born and raised in, where everything was falling apart, the corpos sucked you dry just for the pleasure of experiencing it, and her gang was losing ground fast. Really, the aliens didn't make things much worse. Now, armed with the power of a Vanguard to aide and protect those around her, maybe Ava can make things change for the better for once. How To Nurture Your Sprout (by Dumenoct) This is a Fanfic of Stray Cat Strut.

It follows the exploits of an introverted man with no confidence and even less fighting ability who nonetheless still finds himself transformed into a Samurai, the Elite fighter in the battle against the ravenous plant aliens known as the Antithesis. Death and Taxes (by Ruat Caelum) Set in the Stray Cat Strut universe. This follows Fredric Francis Fletcher Esq., Tax Attorney in the Helios Arcology in the Glen River Arcology south of old Phoenix.

Witch of the West (A SCS Fanfiction) (by BroMandoFett) Morigana Luxanna, a well-educated woman, who has a degree in physics, Antithesis studies, and Vanguard technologies works daily on integrating technology sold to the corp she works for, by Samurai and modern Human Technologies. When the Antithesis decide to drop in on a school she's subbing in for. She has to make a choice, save the children, and fight the aliens, or save herself and run to the bunkers.

To make things more interesting, while she has no issues developing weapons for soldiers to use, she has a strong aversion to ever using a gun or weapon. So, she has to come up with different ideas how to fight off the invading hordes of plant monsters. A Joytoy's Journey to become a Hive-Queen [A SCS Fanfic] (by PhyonesArc) Content warning! This fanfiction has depictions of drug abuse and prostitution! Reader discretion is advised!

In the not-so-glamorous outskirts of New Savannah, Seraphine Bloodfallen - part-time joytoy and full-time cynic - finds herself drafted into madness. When a particularly bad day at work ends in an alien invasion, Seraphine becomes a Samurai; Someone empowered by a benevolent alien race with the strength to oppose the alien invaders. Follow Seraphine as she navigates her new life with more power and problems than she ever wanted.

As it turns out, battling alien invaders with a ragtag band of misfit Samurai might just be the craziest job she's ever had - and possibly the most fun. Who knew the apocalypse could be such a blast? Thunderchild (A Stray Cat Strut fanfic) (by Ironwolf's) Nothing is 100% reliable. After falling through a malfunctioning Protecter portal, while in the act of protecting a visiting trucker, Ellis finds herself in the Stray Cat Strut version of her future.

Join Ellis as she recounts being thrown into the fight against the Antithesis, and tries to make her way back home without the Bugs or the Corps dragging her down. Maniac's Mayham: A guide to being a corprate slave [A SCS Fanfiction] (by Lividiea) Evelin Vance has been an indentured worker ever since she was caught as a little kid hacking into a corpo server and spreading millions worth of documents around.

now "employed" by New Hope Corporation to look into the security of other corporations, usually by less than legal means. being the most disposable asset of the company she is always required to do the most dangerous and hated jobs. until one day, she bites off more than she can chew. Getting attacked, mauled bludged, and bruised, she awakes as a samurai. Follower her on her journey to stop alien plants as well as corporate greed.

Havoc and the Cafeteria Queen [SCS FF] (by Kenny Celican) This is in fact two stories set on opposite sides of a river in the SCS 'verse. On one side, a nameless old man sitting vigil for his dying wife gets caught in an Antithesis Incursion and takes the opportunity to put decades of studying the Anarchist's Cookbook to good use. On the other side, a young woman out for a jog on a sunny day winds up defeating a Model Four in the least likely way possible.

Libitina (SCS 2024 Fanfiction Contest WINNER) (by Niame) Libitina knows she is nothing more than a dusty old professor teaching a long dead topic to a class of bored, spoiled rich kids. Her home life is a mess, with nothing but her duties as a wife and mother pushing her back home through the smog filled skies of Nova Halifax. Life is as dismal as Libi expected it to be; until her classroom explodes, and Libi is elevated to a Samurai, one of humanity's mighty defenders against an ongoing alien invasion.

While I don't claim to know everything, this is my story where I find out the truth of the Macroon Arcology and what it means to be human in this new world. And no, I am not a trained psychologist and I am not getting paid for this.

Rise of the Phoenix (SCS Fanfic) (by BlackShad) Leo "Phoenix" Adair is an avid gamer and a member of the Esports team, The Myths. During their first finals match of the popular game Samurai Rush the stadium is stuck in the middle of an Antithesis Incursion. Join Leo is his mad dash to survive his new reality. He's going to need every one of his non-existent skills to save his hometown, or die trying. This is a fanfiction based on Stray Cat Strut, an excellent cyberpunk/aliens story by RavensDagger. This story was originally created for a fanfiction contest held by RavensDagger, and was converted to a full story on Royal Road with his blessing. I do not own, nor intend to take credit for, any of the setting.

Cassy the Clowns Big Top Bonanza (An SCS Fan-Fic) (by FullAutoAlice) Cassandra just wanted to make people laugh, and spread smiles. She resurrected from the dust of the antithesis apocalypse, the motley outfits and antics, of the greatest smile makers ever. Clowns!! As fate would have it though, she would have to make clowning around her side job, as she gets recruited into the ranks of the world protecting Vanguard.

Come along as she and her assortment of strange allies try to balance joy making and weeding the garden of the apocalypse. It is important to note, the only canons here are confetti cannons. None of this in canon to the original works, and honestly may not even be canon to itself. Cassy is chaotic, Cassy is fun, Cassy cares not for your canon. Nor for crunchy numbers. If you have come for chapters about catalogues and point totals, you won't find them. You may find some of Cassy's side shows though!

Other samurai, often just getting their start, for a chapter or two. Symbiosis (A SCS Fanfiction) (by QuakDoktor) Gideon Mori is just an overworked Biologist working for Pinnacle Corporation in Los Angeles, just trying to slog through another soul-numbing day when an Antithesis incursion throws him into a fight for survival. Join Gideon as he fights his way through his workplace, learning what it is to be a Samurai.

Slaying Aliens and Infringing Copyrights (SCS Fanfiction) (by Cataphractoi) Erica Taylor is a graphic designer for a game developer, which in today's world is code for 'AI artist babysitter.' But on the way to a convention she spots a broken down bus under attack from Antithesis, and with no weapon available but her car, the part of her that always wanted to be a hero decides to intervene.

Now she's been selected to become a Samurai, a warrior entrusted with defending humanity from Antithesis by the enigmatic Protectors, but she's also been stranded several days walk from the nearest town with nothing but a ruined cosplay outfit. Worse yet, the nearest town has an Antithesis infestation festering just beneath the surface, readying to devour it whole. Fighting her way in is only going to be the beginning.

Fata Morgana: Reflections [A SCS Fanfiction] (by Aliapanacea) The second child of the Montero Dynasty, a family with full control of the New Houston Flotilla, has finally returned home from a (utterly disastrous) business trip to New New York, returning to a life they hate and a family that despises them. A newbie maid working for the Monteros is doing their best to live their life, one song, one step at a time.

Trusted with a monumental task by their superior, they begin their descent into the deepest depths of New Houston. For one fraction of a moment, one heading up, one heading down, their paths cross and are forevermore linked together. They'll grow closer, one dead Antithesis at a time. A Spark of Sylvan Flame (by DeliriousSprite) No one cares about the Wastes. These are the words Spark grew to learn through his life.

After all why care about a bunch of farmers that are too stubborn to move to a city for protection against the antithesis? Not even the super wealthy care despite demanding food from the wastes due to it being "more natural" than the food grown in greenhouse towers. The Samurai are barely any help either, not doing anything about roving packs of antithesis until they build a decent sized hive. So when Spark finds himself with an AI lodged in his head, he makes a vow to never abandon his home.

However when tragedy, corporate fuckery, a certain festering problem that he has been ignoring, and familial history rear their heads all at once. Spark will need to ask for outside help to dig through everything in this new world he has stepped into. Maybe he'll get an idea or two for his tinkering along the way? After all getting to build all kinds of esoteric weed whackers is one thing he will never turn down.

Swarm Ascendant - A SCS Fanfiction (by randomancer) Sylvi has it pretty good, but then the Xenos that used to be someone else's problem suddenly becomes hers, too. Now she's a Valkyrie, and the world expects her to fight them with nothing but a super powerful AI voice in her head and a seemingly endless bag of tricks. Okay, well, when you put it like that it does seem kind of reasonable... Foxfire: A SCS Fanfic (by LucyKitsune) Luna had her life figured out. HAD.

She was going to get a PhD in Astronomy and then after some work in science and academia to get a nice postdoc retire to teach astronomy or experimental physics at her university. And then of course aliens had to show up and fuck up everything by being hostile and requiring her to get a PhD in space warfare rather than something interesting like neutron stars, black holes or other celestial phenomena or even just something useful like orbital mechanics or spectroscopy. - A Stay Cat Strut Fanfic.

A Samurai's Tome of Extraterrestrial Terror (by DankDuck) Ness doesn't want much from life. Working as a delivery driver for a farming town in Michigan isn't exactly fun or rewarding as far as careers go, they could also use a less sleepless nights. Bosses are what you would expect when you're under an indentured servant contract. At least they're cheap enough that the town won't fire them or repair the old barely functional van they're forced to call home.

But they can still make time for retro tabletop roleplaying games with friends and family. Nothing to bring people together like escapism! And everyone needs an escape every now and then. The town of Traverse couldn't escape the plant aliens when they came knocking though, so its up to a caffeine addicted nerd with insomnia to save the day with some help from the less murderous alien allies. With an arsenal of tech so advanced it might as well be magic, they just might survive their first quest.

Shinobi (by Aster Vulpes) Today could not have gone any more wrong, we were almost late to work, a net runner nearly fried the receptionist, and then the day took a turn for the uncomfortably exciting when the Antithesis decided today was the perfect day to attack the mall. So you might as well follow us fumble our way through being a newly initialised Samurai, and deal with whatever our stay in London decides to throw at us next.

Join Gideon as he fights his way through his workplace, learning what it is to be a Samurai. Deep cleaning the deep sea (by Shadowm4ge) Macy Adams is... unusual. Not in the normal neurospicy way. No, she likes something that is seen as very odd for 2056: The ocean.

With most of the life in the ocean being dead and the rest being hiding Antithesis hives, it is firstly not a safe place and even more so? It has nothing of value for most people. Macy is bent on changing that, even if she doesn't have the power to. So, when she initializes as a Samurai during one of her dives, she sets out to clean up the seas and maybe, just maybe, bring back everything that was taken from it. Of course, there's a lot of Antithesis in the ocean, so she's got a lot way to go.

Ad Araneam (by Zodiac36Gold) You know your day is gonna be shitty… shittier than usual, when, first thing in the morning, you wake up and the world is ending. Why do I say shittier? Well, for starters, the world had been ending since 2022, so for the last thirty years and then something. Sure, we were keeping up, making sure the aliens – because yes, aliens were real, there were, apparently, a lot of them, and a specific type had beef with us…

and everything else – didn't manage to destroy us, but really, sometimes it seemed that they weren't even the main threat to our continued existence. No, humanity itself was doing a pretty good job of that all by itself. Between climate change turning the North Pole into a slushie and Antarctica into Iceland 2.

0 – that joke would've been funnier if Greenland hadn't been a cold wasteland – causing the levels of the oceans to rise high enough to change the geographical maps, the corporations turning life into a capitalistic, bureaucratic, mess where everything was for sale but, in the end, you owned nothing, well, let's just say that things could've been going a lot better. Of course I'm saying all this in retrospect. At the time my story began, I had other things to worry about.

Sudden Death Punch (A SCS Fanfiction) (by LuuuucOfLegends)"Let's dance." In the near future, man-eating aliens rain from the sky and corporations squeeze those who remain for every credit they can. Armed with an endless arsenal of impossible technology and enough gumption to persevere against anything that blocks their path, these Samurai became living legends in the modern age. Gods among men, even. Max Peregrine would much rather continue to be a passing face in the crowd. A whisper in the wind, or a mirage from the dust. But that doesn't mean she isn't going to beat the tar out of any Antithesis that comes her way.
