A tentacle of blood seized Angel, hurling him against the iron frames buried on the ruined balcony. A brutal explosion struck the vampiress, wrapping her in searing reddish embers. Immediately, Ascan repositioned, sheltering behind a column at the entrance.
"That beast can't even be classified as a Meta…" He rummaged in the pockets of his lab coat, quickly swallowing a purplish bar. The medicinal taste slid down his throat, disgusting and artificial. His body slowly began to regenerate, emitting a thin, dense dark smoke." Normally, almost any Meta can restore their tissues using a certain percentage of Frequency, but the substance I produce is almost incompatible and, once it explodes, is worthless. But luck is on my side! With this medicine I can fight for longer!"
"Will another direct hit be enough to at least stun her?" He murmured, hearing from behind his shelter dozens of screams and explosions. Angel flew past him, slamming down in front of him. His face was split, and the black matter was struggling to stop the blood from gushing out. Ascan tried to stand, but felt something pressing directly against his collarbone.
"You know it's rude to run off like that?" Eve's foot, bloodied and covered in dark plates, was pinning him to the column. He felt his skin pressing against his bones, that disgusting electric ache of crushed nerves, and yet his focus was solely on that smiling, unsettlingly malicious face. The iron of the firearm anchored to her right arm gleamed, both from reflection and from the red fuel inside. Ascan couldn't move, paralysed by her presence alone.
"Am I going to die?" He thought, watching the woman raise her arm. His blood and hers mingled like a screaming crowd on her forearm, forming a gigantic red curved blade with two depressions near the tip. Eve stared at him again and smiled, licking her lips.
"Yeah... I'm definitely going to die." The gash extended all the way to the wall, splitting the floor and perfectly slicing the column, but not a single drop of blood rose into the air. Ascan was now under Laure's arm, carried like a briefcase. His wounds were starting to regenerate again, yet both their faces were frighteningly pale.
"Thank you, Laure…" Ascan smiled, only to be abruptly dropped to the ground. Laure's and Eve's fists collided in a flurry. Their movements seemed to blend, yet Laure was retreating and the other's hands multiplied with every second. Laughter mixed with the rending of air, and Laure was brutally struck in the stomach. Before the impact could send her flying, Eve grabbed her by the face and buried it into the floor. Roman and Angel joined in, restricting her movements with their abilities.
The first, wielding a lance, plunged from the sky like a thunderbolt, while the second aimed a dozen firearms that emerged from the black globules at his back. The lance pierced the nape of her neck, exiting through her throat. Right after, a swarm of lead ricocheted off her body. Laure sprang up, kicking her into the air and dissipating the dark, acrid cloud. Eve's body hovered high, laughing and laughing. Without even touching her, the lance was absorbed, making the hole vanish.
Not a single bullet furrow remained on her pale flesh. She landed gracefully on the ground, without a sound.
"You'll do as appetisers…" Eve licked her lips again, vanishing. Everyone looked around, trying to sense something in that silence, when Roman was suddenly hurled sideways against the entrance columns. Eve spun around sharply, aiming her cannon at Angel. An explosive blaze engulfed him.
"Go to hell!" Laure threw herself at her, flailing her clawed hands, only managing to see her own arms vanish into the air before returning with her face in the dirt. Eve stomped on her, over and over, then brutally kicked her against the entrance door. She smiled, raising the cannon at the balcony.
"I wasn't good at hide-and-seek. I always lost to my siblings unless I was the one seeking." She detonated a fresh salvo of explosive fragments, bombarding the entire terrace. A gigantic trunk, ablaze and on the verge of charring, had appeared to defend Ed and Ascan. Eve flashed, like a beam of light, before them. She pierced Ed's chest, tightened her grip on his ribs, and hurled him away like a doll. Ascan aimed at the ground, but Eve amputated both his hands before he could detonate the shot.
He was unable to even register the pain. Eve kicked him in the stomach. Greyish vomit splattered her face, yet Ascan was smiling. Eve realised that that liquid had been his plan from the start.
"Filthy pest." She murmured before being swallowed by a column of flames. Even the ceiling was struck by the blaze. Angel hid everyone in the shadows as Ascan rode the fire all the way to the great door. Angel immediately came to his aid, but Ascan silenced him with a look and urged him to rummage in his pockets. He pulled out another vial and, in his frenzy, bit into it. The glass shards cut his lips and throat, yet that pain was nothing compared to what was supposed to come.
The sensation of bones, then muscles, then capillaries, then nerves, and then skin rebuilding themselves from nothing while still conscious was unbearable. Ascan actually vomited, a mix of blood and fluids. He turned, panting, and stared at the flames. A tremendous boom extinguished them, and Eve emerged, her hands pressed together.
"You don't have much left, do you?" She smiled so wide her eyes closed. Ed snapped his fingers from behind them, even though he was lying in a pool of blood. Sharp tendrils clashed against her, unable to wound her. Roman, Angel, and Laure threw themselves at her. Angel's arms of darkness tried to crush her, but the moment Eve raised her arm, they seemed almost to lose control and fray on their own. Angel returned to the ground, aiming at her head with another rifle, this time using his own darkness as bullets.
Eve deflected them with her cannon while dodging Roman's and Laure's blows simultaneously." Karmesin …" With a single stomp, a trail of bloody pikes exploded from the ground, striking Angel and separating the two. Roman shattered the pikes, continuing to assault her with slashes from the thin tendrils anchored to his arm. Any movement was useless against her; the slightest shift was all she needed to avoid any offensive. Her hands guided the blows, forcing them to break against the pikes erupting from the floor.
"I've had enough of you!" All the tendrils condensed into a single, dense, dark, slimy maul. False bones jutted from the mass, making it sharp and ferocious. The blow crashed swiftly from above, driving Eve's feet down into the cement. And yet, with the strength of her arm alone, she had perfectly stopped it.
"I'm sorry for you, but you have no right to hate anyone if you're this weak. Would an ant hate me if I stepped on its nest?" Eve opened her hand, sinking her fingers into the slimy black mass. Despite all the frequency supplied by the compound and by Laure herself, Roman was petrified.
"Honestly, I think it should hate itself for being so weak." Roman's weapon shattered completely, breaking all the fingers of his hand in the process. With a simple flick of her wrist, Eve threw him to the ground, pinning him perfectly.
"Farewell." She smiled, raising a blade of blood that emerged directly from her hand. The red edge fell swiftly, aiming for the man's heart. The blade embedded itself in the ground, yet Roman had vanished. Eve turned her gaze, smiling, at the panting man under Laure's arm, who was also drenched in blood and sweat.
"Thank you…" He murmured, but the woman set him back on the ground, smashing her knuckles together.
"You all are in way worse shape than I thought. Wait for the signal. Right now, focus on regenerating." He nodded, and Eve focused her entire being on the woman before her. The Frequency around her was like a dense, glutinous mass, stuck to her skin, with coloured fumes rising from it. The two found themselves face to face. Despite the difference in stature, both their souls burned with the same flame.
"In my world, I never saw you. You are a pretty new variable. Yet, I can feel you are a beast just like me!" Eve smiled, clashing fists with Laure a second time. Crystal splinters flew into their faces in the exchange. Yet with every blow, the Frequency Eve tore from Laure's body didn't weaken her. She was slow, predictable, and yet even Eve couldn't rob her completely.
"Her body recycles physical and psychological damage into fuel…" A smile appeared on her face as she continued to avoid the constant swarm of blows. Even though Laure managed to graze her, not a single scratch marked that white skin. Eve abruptly grabbed her hand, pulling her close.
"It's a shame you're tired… You'll break before this pace does." She hurled her into the wall she had come from, sending her tumbling across the ground. She closed the distance in mere instants, seizing her again while she was still rolling. Her arm became almost a whip, lashing Laure's abdomen, knees, and neck. She wasn't budging, but she couldn't evade that flurry of blows either. Eve moved her head aside, avoiding Laure's bloodied arm. She smiled, promptly kicking her in the chest.
Laure panted, though her wounds were regenerating. The scars and crystals didn't disappear. Thin streams of frequency branched from her body outward, invisible but not to Eve, who was immediately intrigued.
"Are you, by any chance, helping your companions? It's strange since you do smell like a beast from Hel. Why are you helping them?" Eve asked, drawing slightly closer. Laure immediately resumed her guard, raising her arms and giving a nod.
"I don't think I can do much all alone… Plus it's fun." The woman smiled, slowly steadying her breath. Eve stared at her, lowering her arms, letting them go completely limp.
"I know you are not going all out, but don't think you could even if you were at the peak of your strength." The aura around her changed swiftly into something terribly diabolical. Laure could see it; her eyes could visualise the soul imprinted in that woman's Frequency: behind her stood a world in ruin.
"After all… I've been holding back since the moment you met me. I've even been using this stupid contraption." Eve tore off the cannon, reducing it to a thousand pieces with the thin blades of blood that emerged from her dark arm. Lachesi, finally free, lit up with an unsettling light in shades of violet and black. Reddish flashes burst from the pores of her skin like crimson lightning." My body feels heavy!" Laure blinked, and Eve vanished. A light touch on her shoulder froze her completely.
She turned and saw her grinning, her canines fully displayed. Swiftly she rotated her body, but she disappeared again. She felt herself seized by the throat, so hard it lacerated her skin. In that precise instant, Laure noticed her Frequency wasn't restoring itself. She was hurled against the iron railing of what remained of the terrace. The air in her lungs was expelled by the impact, leaving her gasping as air and blood mingled inside her.
Eve kicked her full in the chest, so fast none of her senses could anticipate it. She flew against the wall, dragging the severed iron bars with her.
"A pity… I'll have to move on to the next." Eve immediately turned her head toward Ed and Ascan, both wounded and tired beyond measure. She took a step when suddenly she was immobilised by skeletal, slimy arms. Small winged shadows shot out from the false black bones, beginning to hurl themselves at her." That man was always annoying!" Eve smiled, ripping away the bonds that held her fast.
"I'll kill him by tearing out his heart like the first time!" Suddenly the room lit up red, white, and blue. The temperature rose exponentially as all the lights merged into a small globule on the palm of the exhausted Laure.
"Last chance, Roman… Don't waste it." She smiled as the energy began to shine and spin, thinning until it was like the shaft of a banner. Eve saw it and smiled, raising her hand toward the glow." Resistance… Bastille." The light exploded like a cannon shot, crossing the entire hall in a mere instant. Eve laughed, striking the light with Lachesi, now in the form of armour. A whirlwind devoured everything, from the temperature to the beam itself.
Laure stared pitifully as her attack vanished into the jaws of that relic.
"Magnificent… So this world has some surprisingly good morsel left!" Eve licked her lips, pointing Lachesi in the same direction again. Black sparks emerged from her clawed fingers, ready to vomit the same mass of energy." Salve …" She whispered, as the frequency gathered in her palm like a swarm of fireflies, now greyish, now red. The air froze an instant before the shot was released.
"Thank you, Laure. With this, I can hold out." Roman smiled. A rapid series of steps approached Eve, who, with a satisfied grin, turned toward him. A sword of tendrils, long and thin, emerged from his palm. With an upward slash, Roman tried to sever her arm, succeeding only in deflecting the beam of energy. The ceiling was torn open by the light, severing even the space reconstructed by the relic and smashing through the tower into the normal world.
The light dissipated into the sky like a firework, ripping open the clouded night.
"That is no being of this world… It is a demon." Ascan thought, watching the river of moonlight illuminate the room, especially the white figure of that woman. Roman didn't relent, continuing to swing the blade, alternating thrusts and slashes. Eve simply avoided them, wasting minimal movement as she circled him. Suddenly, a pair of darts struck her from behind, bouncing off her skin and vanishing at her feet.
She immediately recognised the Frequency, the same as the one who had been battering her with those shadows until recently.
"Got you!" Roman's blade grazed her neck, but the only result was breaking the black tip. Roman didn't give up, pushing harder and harder against her flesh. The sword cracked with every thrust.
"I see. The energy that wasn't dissipated was reused to fuel the enhancement. Roman and Angel will keep hitting me to force a greater consumption. They think they can wear me out until those two worms arrive?!" Eve grabbed the blade directly by the guard. This time the grin masked something deeper, something buried deep in her corneas. Roman saw a vein swell on her face, while her eyes flashed bright red. Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more.
"No matter how many worms you gather…" Roman poured all his strength into it, but nothing could even budge her. It was like having your hand stuck in a tight crack in a wall, impossible to pull out. The wrenching sound of stressed metal resounded in the night.
"... WORMS REMAIN WORMS!" The blade shattered completely, and Roman could do nothing to stop her. Her hand seized the back of his neck, driving it directly into her forehead. The impact made him lose sight for a second, trapping him in a series of dark images. Eve kicked him away, embedding him in the wall. Pushing herself backward, she grabbed what was left of the railing and launched herself into the air. With her head angled toward the floor, she pointed two fingers at Roman.
"The separation of all things, that which divides." A black and red light emerged from her nails, accumulating into a floating strip a few centimetres from her hand. Everyone present recognised that particular move and that technique." Hakmes." Everything seemed to grow darker as the wall and everything behind it were severed by the black blade, blasted in that direction. In that moment, Eve had managed to replicate Malcom Van Jir's technique. She landed perfectly on her feet, treating herself to a quick bow.
Everyone present stared at her, pale, while she turned without that grin on her face.
"Good! My memory is nearly restored." The moment she noticed Angel and Roman close together, her energy exploded. The ground beneath her feet shattered, and she vanished.
"You are a nuisance." Before anyone could react, Eve was now behind Angel, her bloody claws raised in the air. Roman tried to turn, but by now the blades were ready to sever his head from his neck. A violent burst, and Angel was covered in blood, but not his own. Eve was now at the centre of the room, writhing as her severed arm couldn't regenerate. Her scars split open, letting blood and a strange tar pour down at her feet. Her eyes began to flicker between yellow, brown, and red.
The cracks reached her face as she snarled.
"Lance! Damned fake! Why do you keep throwing obstacles in my path? Don't you also want the rebirth of our…" Her entire body was caged in a cocoon of dark slime. Dark smoke was emitted, and in a short time all movement ceased. It shattered, dropping thin black scales that immediately liquefied upon hitting the ground. Shortly after, the cocoon dissolved completely, revealing a taller, more muscular figure. His skin was equally pale, but within human limits. He trembled, trying to stay upright.
He felt his face and chest, noticing the scars slowly becoming almost invisible. Lance ran a hand through his raven hair, noticing the slime still stuck to it. Immediately, his throat filled, and he fell to his knees. A violent jet of black tar burst from his lips. His body was weak, his eyes tired, and he struggled to stand.
"What happened? I was against Angel when…" The next retch was bitter and violent enough to interrupt even his flow of thoughts. He found himself unable to move, and meanwhile the tar began to flow into his skin like tiny larvae burrowing into flesh. He managed to stand, gasping and tearing up. Before him, all the members of Changeant stared at him aghast." Why are all of them here?! I have to do something!"
Lachesi tried to activate, but at the first flow of Frequency, his arm felt as if it had been plunged into molten iron. The pain made him sweat and tremble while Roman approached.
"At least you… Will be an excellent consolation." A series of tendrils coiled around his arm, slowly extending toward Lance's throat. He tried to raise his arm, but nothing. His body refused to obey him.
"Shit… Come on… Move!" The slimy creepers, threaded with skeletal matter, drew ever closer, disgusting and viscous. The ground began to fracture, making a dark, dense tentacle emerge. Roman defended himself with his arm, being hurled away.
"That move!" Lance saw a figure on the destroyed terrace. A woman in a white coat launched herself. She landed right in front of Lance, supported by a dark pool. Everyone stared at her, especially Ed Guin, who recognised her.
"Lexa Worhol!" Lance smiled, immediately finding her finger pressed to his lips. She rummaged in her pockets until she pulled out a dark, thin vial with a disturbingly long needle.
"Forgive me, little one… I'll try to be gentle." She smiled and, without wasting a moment, pierced his skin with the needle, right on his neck. Instantly Lance felt the lightning shock of searing pain shoot through his muscles. His bronchial tubes cleared, and he felt air flow into his throat again. His flesh stopped spasming, and he managed to get back on his feet.
"I didn't feel a thing…" The boy smiled, only to be immediately tapped on the forehead. Lexa laughed and hugged him tightly, squeezing his chest.
"Liar…" She let him go with a wink, then stared with blazing eyes at all the people before her. Roman, Laure, Ascan, Ed, and Angel returned the gaze with ferocity. From her feet emerged two Lexa doubles, one dark and one yellowish.
"To pay for the lives of my employees who lost their lives tonight… I'll take yours!" From the terrace, an explosion was heard, and a new figure emerged from the rubble, landing violently to the left of Lance and Lexa. His white hair gleamed under the moonlight, and his red pupils brightened. As soon as Roman realized who that figure belonged to, veins started to erupt on his skin.
"LAUTRE CLERCCCCC!" Roman shouted, seeing him rise with the shorter tuning fork gripped in his hand. Lautre didn't respond; instead, he smiled at Lance. His smile was genuine, pure, something totally unexpected in such a situation. Lance returned it, while a single tear slid down his face.
"Did you deal with those creatures?" Lexa asked, pointing at the hole in the balcony. Lautre nodded, loosening his shoulders and stretching his legs. The woman smiled, positioning herself in front of Lance.
"I suppose it's time to draw the curtain?" Lautre and Roman sized each other up, ready for the final act. In the lower floors, where the reserved labs resided, a grim pursuit was taking place. The creatures' claws could be heard scratching the walls, along with their aberrant serpentine hisses. The screech of their metal echoed through the white corridor, erasing the sound of the footsteps of the woman being chased.
"Why did I get separated?! How did I trip and end up in that hole?!" The scientist thought, remembering how she had split from the group. She had simply leaned against a wall. She couldn't have known it was so fragile. She'd been catapulted into this nightmare, prey to those horrible man-eating, or corpse-eating, creatures, since she hadn't yet seen them attack anyone.
"EVERYONE'S HIDING IN THE LABS OUTSIDE! WHAT DO I DO?!" She tripped again, luckily avoiding the leap of one of those beasts, which crashed into the wall. She whimpered, throwing herself through a service door. She descended the stairs quickly, hearing the hisses behind her. The woman slipped again, falling to the lower floors. Perhaps from adrenaline or spirit, she got up immediately. The corridor was that of the underground section, a complex dedicated to research on Hel and other phenomena.
"Of all places, I had to end up here?! Isn't this where they keep the test subjects for dangerous experiments?" She crawled, leaving a trail of blood behind her. Her ankle throbbed, sending waves of pain with every single step. Her blonde hair was stained with filth and worse. She heard the creatures rushing behind her, desperate with hunger. She tried to catch her breath, but she was at her limit. Vea Matwell was not a bad or an extraordinary woman, nor worthy of any particular attribute.
A perfectly ordinary woman nearing her thirties: a diligent, simple person." I struck a spot here only cause I was lucky with that scholarship..."
"That's it… I can't go on." She had ended up accepting to work there because she liked helping people, and when she met Lexa, she jumped for joy to know she could dedicate herself to research. Those were good days at Machinamentum: colleagues, good food, good pay, many perks, and above all belonging to a noble cause. In a single night, everything was wounded and damaged, from her own bonds to herself. In that precise moment of reflection, a creature turned the corner of the corridor.
It stared into her eyes, hissing and walking very slowly. This one walked on all fours, slamming its metallic extremities on the ground. That sight awakened an instinct in her, primal and sincere.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" She flailed her arms, snarling and swearing vulgarly. Without realising it, she was scratching at the door behind her. One nail broke, then another, leaving two parallel red stripes. Copious tears dissolved her makeup, turning it into dark, slimy lines. The beast didn't stop, repeating its hisses so many times it sounded like laughter. Suddenly the door opened, making her fall into a dark room lit only by the outside light from the corridor.
The beast grabbed onto the door frame, peering in with its violet eyes. It was a room full of papers, notes, and writing, even on the walls. Aside from some bookcases and a cabinet, there was only a small bed. The rest of the room was bare, making the white floor somehow oppressive. In the half-light, Vea noticed a single foot dangling from the right side.
"Is this the morgue?!" She thought, watching the beast draw ever closer to her, hissing with even greater intensity. Vea felt her strength leave her. She fell to her knees, refusing to listen to the instincts that begged her to fight. The beast raised its metallic limb, briefly flicking out a forked, purplish tongue.
"What a pitiful life I've led…" She closed her eyes, waiting for her head to be severed, but for eternal seconds nothing happened. The hissing became desperate, almost like a whimper. Vea turned her gaze to the beast crushed against the wall, as if being pushed by an invisible force.
"Too much noise to think. Lexa will be furious…" Vea stared in horror as the man rose from the bed. Despite her fear, she recognised his beauty: long platinum hair, amethyst eyes, a physique surprisingly muscular for his slender build, a face slightly worn with a hint of dark circles. He wore only a very loose bluish pair of trousers, held up by an elastic tied at the waist. He stared at the creature, drawing ever closer. The air grew taut. With every step the man took, the force increased.
He came to stare the creature directly in the eyes, while the metal bent into its flesh.
"They're here?! That bastard is here?!" The man smiled, and the creature exploded, scattering a purplish fluid all over the room, except on her and him. The barrier near Vea dissipated, letting the droplets and splinters that should have hit her fall to the ground. She couldn't speak, couldn't even form a coherent thought. The man noticed her and smiled. He bent his legs and studied her carefully.
"Hello… I'm Grayson Dirac, the new director of the research department!" He smiled, timid and awkward, occasionally averting his gaze. She stared at him in silence, then burst into tears. Grayson began to panic, desperately searching for a tissue.
"Come on, I'm sorry… Please don't cry!" As he looked left and right, Vea noticed, through her tearful pupils, a new purplish glow.
"Look out!" She screamed, but Grayson smiled after finding a single folded tissue. The beast stretched its metallic limb over his head, and she immediately averted her gaze. A hiss, and the sound of crumpled metal. The creature became a compressed sphere.
"Here, but don't cry." The man smiled, handing her the tissue and turning away, embarrassed. He stretched his arms and leaned out into the corridor, giving a couple of nods.
"Sorry… The base is currently under siege by a group of terrorists." Grayson turned around, still smiling. He looked at her ankle and shoulder, both injured and swollen. He stretched out his hand, creating a faint golden light. Immediately her flesh returned to its original state, and even the pain vanished. Vea stared at him, confused, but he was already jotting in his notebook.
"Yeah, I know, I tried to intervene, but this place locked me here. I tried to find my way back, but I got lost. I ended up charting on the wall, but then I got tired."
"Maybe Lexa and the others spoke about me. I'm not a human, at least not anymore. I have these strange powers and a voice that rings inside my head... But I'm not crazy, I swear!" Vea watched him, panicked and gesturing.
"Yeah... I know who you are... You are the new strange guy Lexa took after that incident." Grayson hummed a bit, scribbling something in his little journal.
"I guess that's an accurate depiction... If you're feeling better, would you mind accompanying me to the surface?" He asked, and she nodded quickly, thanking him and cleaning the dirt from her face. The man kicked aside the ball of flesh and iron, clearing the way.
"May I have your coat?" The woman stared at him again, this time stunned. Grayson turned red, beginning to gesture and fire off various excuses. He didn't realise she had already put her garment on him.
"It suits you very well." The man remained mute, continuing to walk through the corridor echoing with hisses.
"What will you do once we're on the surface?" Vea asked, watching the white coat sway at his hips.
"How are the other scientists?" Dirac stared at her intensely, this time with a burning motivation in his violet eyes.
"Some died... But the majority is safe in the outside world!" Grayson locked eyes with her, his gaze fierce. A smile formed on his lips, and he nodded.
"Not long ago I was asked to live… I really wanted to give up on life, cause I couldn't find any meaning for it anymore..." One by one, the hisses stopped.
"But Lexa and the other complimented my work. Despite being all gloomy, they never stopped caring. Lexa's friends came to check on me, and I couldn't muster up the courage to see them. I need to tell that boy that meaning has life now for me." Vea watched him move his fingers, bending the space at his will.
"Hey... Mr Dirac... What's life now for you?" Both the scientists stopped. Grayson moved his gaze to the flickering light of the white ceiling. For a brief instant, he could picture a starry night.
"For me, life means providing my science in support of the weak and the innocent. To let everyone experience the wonders of this, even though I'm no longer part of it." Vea listened to him in silence as his entire body radiated determination.
"I, Grayson Dirac, will save this organisation and anyone allied with it!" He finally straightened the coat, rolling up the sleeves and buttoning it over his chest. Vea couldn't see them, but behind him, a series of mathematical formulas in a faint, evanescent blue began to hover in the air. A laugh slipped from her mouth.
"You really are a cool guy!" The tip of his ear reddened.
"Lance and that stern-looking man were better at making quotes..." Grayson whispered before getting slapped in the back by the woman. He smiled, setting his eyes in front of himself.
"Lexa, Lug, Erika, Lance… I won't let you down. This time, Grayson Dirac will not surrender to regret!" The fourth demon, locked under all the debris, enters the battle in the tower. The curtain begins to fall on Machinamentum's night.
