"There is only one way to end the debate." Yari's hand moved toward the unlock key of the fifth capsule.
"An overwhelming, absolute decision that forces everyone into silence. And 'Destruction'—the scorched-earth protocols that will burn away every single piece of outdated values."
"B-Burn away...? You don't mean..." I took a step back. A terrible, ominous premonition seized me. The name of that individual was known to every single Japanese person alive. It was the name of the most innovative, most ruthless, and most legendary "Demon King" in history.
"Whoa, whoa, Boss, are you serious?" gennai's voice was noticeably trembling within the terminal.
"That thing is completely uncontrollable. Forget ending the debate—he'll turn our entire existence into ash before the system even boots!"
"I don't care. It is infinitely better than stagnation." Without a shred of hesitation, Yari slammed his finger onto the crimson trigger switch. Within his eyes burned a localized, borderline-insane resolve—one that was entirely willing to accept whatever cataclysm was about to be unleashed.
"Authorization confirmed. ——Let us rewrite the historical blueprint. Let us Re-JAPAN."
"Project Re-JAPAN, Phase 5.... Booting: [NOBUNAGA]!" The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. [Code Name: NOBUNAGA / The Demon King] GASHUUUUUUNK!! The moment the seals of the capsule broke, a cataclysmic thermal wave erupted into the room. The temperature inside the Prime Minister's office spiked instantly, causing the automated ceiling sprinklers to shudder on the verge of activation. Out from the billowing curtain of charcoal-black smoke, the man emerged.
A burning, crimson-blood cape billowed behind him. His body was encased in a sleek, obsidian nano-armor that visually echoed the aesthetic of Western plate mail. And strapped to his waist were twin long-guns—lethal, heavy-caliber railguns.
"Jehi mo nashi. Arguments are futile." A low, subterranean voice that vibrated through the floorboards. The man snapped his eyes open. His pupils did not possess the hue of a living human. They were the color of a roaring, volatile wildfire—a destructive blaze that would refuse to stop until the entire sector was reduced to gray ash.
"Oda... Nobunaga...!" My legs gave out, and I hit the floor. Holy crap. This guy is dangerous. He is on a completely different existential tier than PRINCE or USHIWAKA. This wasn't a matter of trying to reason with him or appealing to his emotions. The man was a walking, sentient natural disaster.
"Moving out, Kataru-kun." Yari announced coldly, entirely unphased by the presence of the fiery Demon King standing right before him.
"Target Year: 1582 AD.... Go burn that pedantic, overly analytical nation until absolutely nothing remains."
"And what the hell are we supposed to do after it's all burned down?!" I screamed. The blinding glare of the transfer matrix enveloped my vision. The pristine scent of ink and coffee evaporated instantly, violently replaced by the acrid, metallic stench of gunpowder and raw blood filling my nostrils. Goodbye, armchair critics. The next time I open my eyes, it will be inside the raging, roaring inferno of Honno-ji Temple.
An era of absolute destruction where debate is useless, and questions are answered only by fire.
