The Azure Ink Dragon The Azure Ink Dragon was a breed of Flood Dragon that carried the bloodline of a True Dragons. Their combat prowess was legendary, they were the undisputed overlords of all waters. Even the weakest among them, with the thinnest draconic blood, would naturally advance to Tier 4 (Golden Core) given enough time. Such was the terror of a Flood Dragon. Some exceptional beasts could even break through to Tier 5 (Nascent Soul). And now, the mysterious Pine Fish had completed its transformation.
It had become an Azure Ink Dragon. The surrounding lake water churned violently, thick with an oppressive draconic aura that filled the air. Even among the Flood Dragon clan, this individual's bloodline was incredibly potent, holding immense potential for further evolution. What exactly had this mysterious Pine Fish been?
More importantly, this newly evolved Azure Ink Dragon hadn't just changed its form, it had also shattered the shackles of the Foundation Establishment Realm and stepped into the Purple Mansion realm. It was now a true Tier 3 Spirit Beast! The blood on its surface was washed clean by the lake water. Its massive body measured a full eighteen meters in length, coiled together like a small, dark cyan mountain. Each scale, the size of a walnut, gleamed with a cold, metallic light.
What was truly peculiar, however, were its eyes, one pure black, the other stark white, an eerie contrast that made it seem far more extraordinary than a typical Azure Ink Dragon.
"Tier 3 aura…" Wujian muttered, feeling the terrifying pressure. He couldn't hide the shock on his face, his eyes now filled with caution.
"Is that Pine Fish a Tier 3 beast now?" Huaijin remained silent, his gaze fixed on the lake. Splash! The water's surface rippled, and a fierce, scaled dragon head emerged from the lake. Its dark cyan and black body shimmered brilliantly under the sunlight.
"Haha! My master, isn't this a pleasant surprise?" The Azure Ink Dragon had succeeded in evolving and breaking through to Tier 3. Having refined the hyoid bone in its throat, it could now speak with human words. They no longer needed to communicate with their minds. Huaijin didn't reply. He simply gestured for Wujian and Yunli to leave first. Though puzzled, they complied.
"Indeed, it's quite a surprise. Now, what exactly are you?" Huaijin's voice was flat, emotionless. Inside him, the Primordial Tai Chi Visualization Diagram spun faster and faster. The power of the black and white chains within it grew steadily. His spiritual sense was now on the verge of reaching the peak of the early stage in Tier 3. If this Flood Dragon harbored any ill intentions, the Visualization Diagram would be his last line of defense.
The creature was now a full-fledged Flood Dragon, and its combat strength was terrifying. The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Most cultivators of the same level would be no match for it.
"Oh, master, you'll know when the time is right," the dragon said, lifting its head and idly spouting a jet of lake water as it spoke, its tone utterly casual.
"The fact that you found me means we have a karmic connection. Don't worry, I definitely won't harm you. Besides, I can't harm you even if I wanted to, can I? I'm still bound by your control, am I not?" Huaijin's eyes narrowed into slits as he stared at the dragon.
"It had better be the truth."
"Goodness, master! Truer than true!" the dragon replied, rolling its eyes. Its massive body floated languidly on the surface of the water.
"Then, do these Pine Fish still have the ability to reproduce?" Huaijin asked, glancing at the school of Pine Fish shivering in the lake.
"Hey, don't you doubt my abilities! Why would they lose that? You should be thanking me, I've provided your family with a never-ending source of wealth!" The dragon's voice rang out, just as smug and annoying as before. To emphasize its point, it flexed its body and gyrated its waist, sending up a great spray of water as if to demonstrate its vitality. The image was too beautiful to behold. It was utterly cringe-worthy. Huaijin's expression was odd, a mix of disgust and speechlessness.
"Alright then," he pressed on, "Do you currently have the ability to reproduce?"
"Hey! Hey! I just evolved, and you're already trying to pimp me out?" The dragon continued.
"I'm not in the mood! And to produce offspring, at the very least, you'd need to find me some female Flood Dragons, right? How am I supposed to 'get busy' all by myself? What, you want to volunteer?" the Azure Ink Dragon shot back. Its words made Huaijin's cheek twitch. He felt an urge to leap into the lake and give the beast a thorough beating. But then a thought struck him, if he could find some female Flood Dragons, given this creature's... enthusiastic nature, it would surely breed.
That would add Flood Dragons to the Zhang family's contracted beasts! Their clan's strength would skyrocket. Just imagine it: Every Zhang clansman, walking abroad, flanked by a mighty Flood Dragon on one side and a Purple Spirit Tiger on the other... The sheer awesomeness of that scene... Huaijin felt a thrill just thinking about it.
"So, what about my surprise?" he asked again, trying to stay focused.
"Don't tell me your evolution is the surprise." The Azure Ink Dragon spread its claws in a helpless shrug, the picture of shamelessness.
"Isn't that enough?"
"Do you think it's enough?"
"I feel it is!"
"F*** you." Huaijin cursed openly, turned on his heel, and started to walk away.
"Hey! Hey! Master, your composure is a bit lacking!" the dragon called after him, yammering on. Huaijin stopped, considered for a moment, then walked back to the shore. Ptoo! He spat a glob of saliva straight at the dragon's head.
"Seriously?!"
"This is utter disgrace! Unbelievable!" the dragon bellowed, stunned that Huaijin would resort to such an undignified tactic. It swished its tail, sending up a spray of water to block the projectile.
"Ha! Can't take a joke, can you? Well, since you did give me that beast core, I'll magnanimously forgive you!" The dragon huffed. Then, its spiritual sense surged, condensing into a sphere of pure energy that shot forward and hovered right in front of Huaijin.
"Here! Since you served me so well, I'll give you something good. This is one of my best treasures! You better remember my kindness!" With that, the dragon retracted its head and vanished into the depths of the lake. Shing! A streak of crimson sword-light slashed through the air, a roaring dragon's cry echoing from the blade. The Blood Dragon Sword, now a Tier 2 upper grade spirit artifact, materialized. Terrifying sword energy surged, piercing the sky before plunging straight into the lake! BOOM!
Deep below, a cataclysmic shockwave erupted. It was like a storm being unleashed underwater. Only the dragon's quick reflexes saved it from being impaled. Clang! A massive, scaled claw met the sword with a deafening crash, sending the weapon flying back out of the water. A thin line of blood appeared on the dragon's claw.
"A sore loser! A total sore loser!" the dragon's furious voice echoed from the depths. Meanwhile, Huaijin's spiritual sense enveloped the energy sphere. As he examined its contents, his eyes widened in astonishment. This was an incredibly rare Ocular Technique, a divine ability known as the Yin-Yang Divine Light.
