When the Awakening descended upon [Ariety], the world was in an uproar in the beginning stage, since this new phenomenon was against the norms and the things they lived upon. The morality of the world was on the verge of collapsing among humans. Strong awakeners tried to exploit others, using their sheer strength to subdue them. The old era government was overthrown. Villages and towns were raided, and people were killed. History told that these immoral activities continued even after a decade of time.
However, after a selective people's relentless hard work, rules were set and governments were established. However, the governments remained individual, carrying different rules and regulations based on who formed the government. However, within this decade of time, the terrain of the world completely changed. Since the old government was overthrown, people with great power started to annex the land they liked.
So, when people decided to form a country, some people who ruled started to join into different countries with what rules favored them most. So, the new territories of the countries formed. But this change only inflicted more animosity and unfortunate events, because people started to rebel, saying this land previously belonged to this country. These issues did not get resolved for another half-century, continuing until an individual came with the idea of forming a Union Government.
The concept of the Union Government was to create a certain Common Law for every country to follow, allowing them to keep their local laws as they wished. However, this Common Law was heavily opposed by the people who ruled the countries, but it received wide support from the common people. When the peace talks did not work, this individual visited every country on a mission to convince the ruling people to sign an unbreakable agreement. Those who refused to sign were slain without mercy.
When this individual was done with his visits, every country was united, and the Awakening Common Law was established. From that establishment, the new world started to heal, and people with low levels breathed freely. With all the issues settled, the world started to move forward with expeditions, research, and advancements in medicine, which were abundant and brought to this world by the Awakening. The Union Government created different departments.
Among these was one department called the [Awakening Research Department]. Its purpose was simple on paper, yet its work gradually became one of the most complicated responsibilities of the Union Government.
"To Understand Awakening Itself." In the beginning, humanity had treated Awakening as nothing more than a source of power. People awakened Classes and gained supernatural abilities, immediately using them to protect themselves or their loved ones, conquer territories, and rule over others. Nobody wanted to know why it had happened, where the power came from, or what consequences they had to face because of this enormous power.
But the Founder of the Union Government, who held too much power that could be used to destroy the world with his single intent, wanted to know. Researchers were dispatched across the newly unified world to document every known Class, Affinity, Monster, Dungeon, Gate, Artifact, Trial, and other unusual phenomenon that happened because of the Awakening. They recorded every minute detail, using that to compare with others to gather wide knowledge.
It started as simple research, ranging from individual Classes to small plants that grew randomly in the mud. Of all this research, one particular discovery shocked everyone; it was about the Awakening Class. The initial understanding was that everyone received their Class at random. However, researchers soon discovered one strange thing: certain people did not awaken random Classes. Instead, they awakened powers that had existed within their families. These types of Awakenings were known as [Lineage Awakeners].
This discovery changed how the great families viewed themselves. Families that had survived the chaotic era suddenly realized their blood was carrying something more than inheritance and wealth. This discovery encouraged the researchers to dive deep into the Awakening Classes, and soon, more cases appeared. Some individuals awakened Classes through an inheritance left behind by an old, deceased awakener, rather than receiving a random new Class. This type of Awakening was called a [Legacy Awakeners].
However, the discoveries did not stop there. Certain individuals awakened a Class after they completed a Trial. These were called [Trial Awakeners]. The Union Government still continued their research, trying to find if there was any other way people awakened their Classes. While all of the above types of Class Awakenings were publicly known, there were a few that the Union Government refused to reveal. Only a few individuals from the top of the ladder knew of them. Among these, one was called a [Divine Awakeners].
This was a name given to cases in which the researchers believed an external existence had directly interfered with an individual's Awakening. However, this topic was heavily debated by the top authorities, who argued that this Awakening was nothing more than superstition. They believed there was no being above other than the being that bestowed this Miracle upon them. They refused to believe that several beings existed.
Perhaps, they were afraid that multiple beings intervening would eventually lead to a conflict that would put them in a catastrophe. Regarding this debate, the evidence was also very scarce. Although some people continued to insist on doing more research on this particular topic, it was ignored at first. Eventually, it was completely forgotten by everyone once the Founder died. Although his demise put an end to this topic, his words were still preserved within the highest archives of the government.
"Power without understanding is merely another form of chaos." This belief became one of the foundations upon which the Union Government was built. Although, over time, people completely removed the Divine Class Awakeners topic from research table, other topics continued their extensive research. Among these, one particular topic stood out, which was the [Lineage Awakeners]. Some people considered that this type of Awakening would eventually rule the world.
This was because a person who awakened through a random Class could only rely on themselves. Even if different people came together to form a faction, it would never be as effective as a family possessing both passed-down abilities and an emotional connection. In the beginning, researchers considered all types of Awakenings on an equal footing. However, as time passed, the collected data on Lineage Awakenings began to reveal a disturbing pattern.
The more generations a lineage was passed down, the more powerful their Awakening became. The first members of a lineage often awakened a single Class connected to their bloodline. Their children might awaken the same Class, but they would possess stronger abilities with stronger variations, and even a mutated Class. Due to this concept, their future generations possessed a more capable [Affinity] and [Inborn Ability] compared to the abilities of a Random Class Awakener.
The more time passed, the more descendants awakened a Class connected to the family's lineage. That discovery changed everything and put a lot of pressure on the Union Government. A family was no longer merely passing wealth, land, influence, or knowledge from a parent to a child; they were passing down power itself. A powerful individual could eventually die, but a lineage could continue producing awakened descendants, generation after generation, as more powerful individuals.

However, the strange thing was that the Founder of the Union Government did not show any interest in this discovery. He considered this as another form of faction that would eventually balance the world's power. But what he said made no sense to the people who had inherited the Union Government.
Some considered that the Founder saw an impossible problem, and instead of putting down an iron rule, he decided to ignore the problem. Some even said the Founder was afraid of those families and chose to ignore them, but that was just speculation. The truth was something only the Founder knew. While he had been alive, the Union Government had maintained a delicate balance between the common people, the powerful Awakeners, and the great families. He had never attempted to completely suppress the families.
Although that suggestion was firmly given by people who saw the real potential and threat of the future, his philosophy had always been simple. As long as every force remained within the boundaries of the Common Law, there was no reason to interfere. He consistently insisted on this point and made it a rule for everyone who would come to his position in the future.
Even though the people who inherited his position did not share the same thoughts, they respected the Founder's wish and did not do anything immoral to the Lineage families. They let them continue to grow more powerful as more generations passed.
Boom! Two fists, one big and one small in size, collided with immense power, creating a crater in the ground. Reginald's body was thrown back from the impact. He flew across the ground, destroying the protruding rocks along the way. With a thud, his body landed heavily, creating a big crater. Once he stabilized his body, Reginald shook his head. The impact had left him dizzy. Suddenly, his face darkened with sheer rage. His eyes darted toward a figure standing far away.
Currently, he was battling a person who was 12 feet tall, and the strength he possessed was not enough to fight this person. With a sigh, he stood up from the crater and looked around him. His brother and his father were also not faring well. They were constantly being suppressed. After they saw the presence of the Black Skeleton, they were initially shocked. However, they quickly came to their senses as they realized what was happening.
From the beginning, they had been the first to realize that this trial was not an average trial, acting as soon as Victor revealed the reward he had received after killing Arthur. They conscientiously devised a plan to obtain as much power as they could, since they severely lacked the strength to achieve what they planned to do alone. Thus, that was the main reason they had gathered all the people to make a cooperative pact. Instead of losing everything, they could obtain some and gain what they deserved.
As things were going according to their plan, the sudden appearance of the Black Skeleton sent everyone into a frenzy. However, they knew what the Black Skeleton meant. Instead of lingering, he quickly took action to search for the kid, doing what was necessary for their advantage. But they were a little late. Before they could find the kid, some people had found him first, even going as far as to protect him. The Pleasence family was considered a second-tier family in Faith City.
This was due to their lack of strength, and Reginald also knew that. That was one of the reasons they tried so hard to get their hands on the Torical Treasure. Reginald gritted his teeth as he looked up at the timer. We will get that treasure no matter what! He looked back at the towering figure of Toni the Titan. Toni still stood where they had clashed, his eyes surveying the other battles while simultaneously trying to find Arthur, who was nowhere to be seen.
However, with the Dome Shield protecting them, no one would enter without them sensing it. As long as they suppressed these three, they would win. With that thought, Toni's eyes shot back to his enemy, and he instantly took a giant leap toward Reginald.
While the intense battle occurred inside the Dome, a group of people stood near the outside edge, analyzing the current situation. This group was none other than the Persoff and Winters Families. Once they had decided what to do and obtained what they wanted, they quickly exited the Safe Spot, not waiting for the decision of the main meeting. If one were to look at the group, they would see that the number of people who had arrived at the crater was numerous.
Normally, only certain Core Layers were capable enough to teleport and fly fast. Yet, even the youngest members of the group were present here, as if they had undergone a group teleportation. The old man's eyes stared at the battle and the energy shield that blocked them from entering. Furthermore, they did not see their current target, Arthur. Without entering the Dome, they were incapable of finding him. However, the old man discerned that they were not capable of breaking the Dome Shield.
Despite the stalemate before them, the old man was not worried in the slightest. He simply nodded at a young man with red hair who stood near him, who appeared to be the same age as Arthur. Seeing the signal from his patriarch, the young man suddenly drew a knife from his hip and sliced his palm. With blood starting to pour out of the wound, he extended his palm toward the old man. The old man uncorked the vial that contained the blood and placed a single drop onto the young man's palm.
As soon as Arthur's blood landed on the young man's palm mixed with the young man's blood, a sudden surge of energy erupted. In the next second, the young man quickly used his Inborn Ability, bringing his other palm together. The erupted energy was suppressed between his hands, and soon, it started to take shape. The violent energy rotated itself until it formed a small bird made of pure, blood-red energy. It elegantly stood on the young man's palm, often spreading its wings and tilting its head to look around.
It behaved exactly like the real bird. The young man silently waited for the old man to give orders, and the order came in the next second with a nod of his head. As soon as the young man saw the signal, the bird flew away into the sky. It performed a few rotations and flew directly toward the Energy Dome. Even though the old man had discerned that the energy shield could not be breached, the bird made of blood energy breached it. It easily flowed into the sword and chain shield without any restriction.
Up in the sky, Geoff already knew that people were gathered at the edge of the shield. His eyes closely monitored their actions, and he gave frequent intel to his team. However, the strange thing was that he currently could not detect the bird that had already breached his Energy Dome. Furthermore, the bird could not be seen by the naked eyes of others whose blood was not involved. Therefore, only the young man who had materialized the bird and Arthur could see it.
The bird flew in different directions as if trying to detect something. After flying for enough time, it finally found a trace of what it was looking for. it appeared before a cave-like hole, chirped at the entrance for a moment, and suddenly flew into the cave.
After finding the cave to hide in, Arthur quickly went inside. Initially, he thought it was a dead end. However, as he walked, the hole started to stretch longer, and suddenly, he could not see anything. He contemplated for a moment whether to continue walking or to just sit at the edge of the cave entrance until the fight concludes. However, he was curious about where this cave could lead. Eventually, his curiosity won out.
Although the thought of people finding this cave would leave him trapped like a rat in a cage, but staying here would not yield any good outcome. At the very least, entering the cave would delay his enemies from finding him. Soon, he summoned the Hall Skeleton. Looking at the Assassin Skeleton's pitiful state, Arthur's heart ached. He had paid an enormous amount of materials to hire this Skeleton, yet now, the body part from its shoulder was missing. Those bastards had shown no mercy to the Skeleton.
Within 15 seconds, they had forced it to dismiss itself. This meant the people from the Safe Spot must have detected the Skeleton the moment it entered the chamber. Just thinking about how scary it was that even a Master Skeleton was destroyed made him realize that if he had stormed into the chamber without any intel, he would already be dead. Fortunately, he had thought of sending the Assassin. With a shake of his head, Arthur summoned Rouka the Healer to heal the Skeleton.
Soon, a fog engulfed the Assassin, and it started to regenerate the missing bones. Arthur did not wait for it to heal. He simply gave a command to Hall to hide near the cave entrance. If someone were to enter, it would dismiss itself so Arthur could be alerted. He also commanded Rouka to dismiss itself once it healed the Assassin. With that settled, he quickly summoned Cross the Miner Skeleton. A skeleton came out of the magic circle holding a pickaxe and a pile of [Luxstone].
Arthur then summoned Coburn, ordered it to pick up a few Luxstones, and started to walk deep into the cave.
