Chương 228: The Art of Magic

Hi everyone! Alongside Ideworld Chronicles: Art Mage, I've started working on another story: The Art of Magic. It uses a number of familiar names, magical rules, concepts, and themes from Art Mage, but reshapes them into something new and aimed more directly at a LitRPG/progression fantasy audience. This isn't a retelling of Alexa's story. The plot, characters, conflicts, and progression will be completely different, with a new male protagonist, Alexander May.

Some artistic powers and ideas will feel familiar, but even those will develop very differently from Alexa's abilities. In a way, this is my attempt to take some of the ideas I still love from Art Mage and give them a second chance to find a wider audience in a different format and thus maybe transfer some of them to my current story. On the surface, The Art of Magic will be a lighter, more adventurous story, while still exploring many of the themes familiar to readers of Art Mage—just from another angle.

And although it is more LitRPG-inspired, I'm keeping it very light on numbers, stat sheets (no such things in here), and lengthy ability descriptions. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. I'd really love to hear what you think about the idea. I'm also looking for beta readers willing to give the new story a try and tell me what works, what doesn't, and whether Alexander's adventure grabs you.
