Chương 58: Announcement (VERY important)
Endless Delirium [Will be taken down 10/16 for rewrite] · Stygon · 58 chương · ~10 phút đọc · Tạo 10/10/2026
This announcement will be put on both Royal Road and Patreon, so keep that in mind for the wording. With the latest chapter to Patreon, Book 1 is officially complete and written. I've been thinking for the past few weeks on what to say and do when it was done, and I've settled on a life update, as well as move forward with a rewrite and re-release for the story.
Let's start with the life update, as my decisions will make more sense afterwards, but also I know not everyone cares about that lol, so if you just want to get to the relevant news on the story, you can skip the "Life update" section Life update: If you read the first announcement, you know I was getting sued, lost my house, and my car within a very short timeframe; some parts of my life have gotten worse, but a good bit has gotten better!
There were many wishing me well before, so I thought it would be good to say how it has turned out. What's worse thus far: During my search for a second job, I was laid off from my first, so… no money at all. That did not mean I had more free time though! (hence the slow chapter releases despite having more time). I ended up having to move back in with my parents, and now I'm pretty much put to work doing somewhere between 6-10 hours a day of chores, entirely unpaid!
Their excuse was that I had nothing else to do, and considering they housed and fed me, I couldn't exactly say no, so I went along with it. What's BETTER tho!: Without a job at all, the people suing me had to drop the charges, as I had literally nothing to liquidate. No car, house, wages, nothing, so they were out of luck. So not getting sued! Despite losing my job, my net worth went up by like 20k lol.
On top of that, I managed to get my car loan company to agree to take just $1k, rather than ~$5k that I still owed on it, because I told them I would absolutely not be paying that and I'd rather just tank the credit. So my credit's fine, and no more debt! On top of all this, I FINALLY managed to get another job, and I'll be starting next week- just in time to finish book 1: D While it's been somewhat rough, I think everything has become a net-positive! Still don't have a car, but I'll get there.
Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. Now on to the story update: I'm not… entirely sure if I should keep going with Endless Delirium. While I love the story, it only has about 200 recurring viewers. I think it has potential, but the numbers tell me otherwise, and my life/financial situation are incredibly unstable. I want writing to be a career, as well as something I love, and I don't want to stagnate by pouring all my efforts into something doomed from the start.
I know that I would love writing any story, and Royal Road places heavy emphasis on new stories, rather than old ones- in other words encouraging people to drop some works to begin another. If I am to drop Endless Delirium, I think it would be best to at least wrap things up cleanly, rather than in the middle of a climactic scene, hence the end of Book 1.
But I'm not ready to be done with it yet, and I'd regret it if I didn't give Endless Delirium every chance in the world to recover enough to become successful, and that's why I've decided on a rewrite. I don't need it to get a bazillion dollars or become #1 on the website, I just want to know that there is some interest in it. If there is actually a larger audience that might be interested in the story, and I simply have to reach them, I'll keep going at it, but if not, then I won't.
I can be incredibly stubborn, and it's been detrimental to me before, but I'm hoping it'll pay off here. So here's the plan: I'm going to stop writing new chapters for Endless Delirium, for now. I'll speed through, do some touch ups, add a few sub-plots I really missed out on my first go around, do a re-release, and hopefully within the next week or two, I can get everything done.
What I will ask of you: If you want to see it come back/go higher, then when the re-release happens, I would highly suggest: Rating it, or reviewing if you don't mind taking the time to. Following/favoriting. Commenting on each chapter- it doesn't have to be a lot, just a "TFTC" REALLY helps. Like, a lot more than you think. These will show the RR algorithm that there is interest for it, and I might just be able to succeed.
If all 200 people did all of this, it would hit #1 so quick it's not even funny, but I'd like to be more realistic. If even 50 do all three, I think that it'll work out well. I know this is a little sudden, but my life is terribly chaotic and I haven't had time to plan out anything. I didn't even realize I was approaching the end of book 1 until I finished the chapter and just kinda, realized I was there. Thank you so much for reading this, and don't lose hope! I truly, truly believe it can be done.
The next "Chapter," whenever it comes out, will likely be a link to the re-release
