SUBJECT: 24 YEAR OLD MAN LIVING IN [REDACTED] AS A DEPARTMENT STORE CASHIER PSYCHOLOGICAL CONDITION: CLINICAL DEPRESSION (SEVERE), OBESITY, VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY REASON FOR PLAYING: "TO FORGET ABOUT MY DEAD-END JOB AND THE CONSTANT INSULTS I RECEIVE". GAMING DEVICE: PERSONAL COMPUTER GAME VERSION: ORIGINAL VERSION MEANS OF COMMUNICATION: DIALOGUE SELECTION MEANS OF RECORDING: IN-GAME VIDEO CAPTURE PROVIDED BY SUBJECT DATE OF INCIDENT: APRIL 29TH, 2006 [2339 HOURS: 04. 29. 2006.] [SCENE LOCATION OF THE WARDEN TO BE THE SENADRAN GLADE ON THE ELMIRAN/MALKUSAN BORDER] SUBJECT: > SLOWLY AND CAUTIOUSLY APPROACHES THE WARDEN WITH WEAPONS DRAWN BEFORE THEY ARE DISABLED > SUBJECT THEN FREEZES AS THE WARDEN APPROACHES THEM WARDEN: > SMILING Morning citizen. What a pleasant day outside. Remus must have blessed the skies above. SUBJECT: {DIALOGUE CHOICE} Why have you brought me here? WARDEN: To enjoy the sunshine of course.
It's important to receive Remus's blessing, otherwise we wouldn't be smiling on such a beautiful, warm summer day. SUBJECT: {DIALOGUE CHOICE} You brought me to a secluded location, that seems odd? WARDEN: Indeed it is. > SMILE FADES Sometimes, it's important to have some place to think, especially when your own thoughts are drowned out by people who lost their hearts. Peace and comfort, and nothing else. Which, unfortunately, you only receive in the evenings, [REDACTED].
SUBJECT: > SUBJECT PAUSES FOR 13 SECONDS EDITOR'S NOTE: {[REDACTED]} told he was alarmed by how odd the warden's dialogue was, that he knew his name, but also the dialogue choices that were seemingly formed from his mind, {which is true btw} SUBJECT: {DIALOGUE CHOICE} It's hard to find that. WARDEN: Yes, it is indeed. > SIGHS Of course, happiness is only obtained when we make an effort to push aside our own grievances, and not blame the world for everything.
We tend to lose ourselves with the wrong company, and shut ourselves out as a result. I have dealt with plenty of these individuals, but you aren't one of them. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. SUBJECT: {DIALOGUE CHOICE} What do you mean? WARDEN: > SOFT SMILE Well, for starters, you made an effort to come all this way to see me, as much as you try to make people smile.
Despite all that, many treat your kindness poorly, and you have forgotten the value of human kindness, isolating yourself from a world that is not as cruel as you think. That tells me of a man who has perseverance and endurance, but is being weighed down by tasks that do not allow him to be himself, or even to insomuch let him be kind to others. Much like how you pay your rent. EDITOR'S NOTE: The {player (why does he use the word, subject?)} told me at this point he realized the warden was aware of his living situation, but kept engaging as the entity was "comforting", thinking he was an "angel" sent by god. SUBJECT: {DIALOGUE CHOICE} I have to keep my job; it's the only thing keeping me alive. WARDEN: And this is the problem. You are so obsessed with something that does not treat you well. You have sacrificed your own humanity for something so despondent and cruel.
You aren't deserving of that; you're too good of a man to waste your life away, [REDACTED]. SUBJECT: {DIALOGUE CHOICE} I've tried looking, but no one else is hiring. WARDEN: > SMILES That's where you are wrong. Your own despair has clouded your judgement. But let me tell you this: there is in fact someone looking for someone like you that is paying well with benefits. A kind old woman who needs a good soul such as you. I have it right here, in my very hand.
Take a look at it and make an effort to have it as your new job. SUBJECT: > CHECKS ITEM INVENTORY EDITOR'S NOTE: The {player} observed the item in question, a note which mentioned that something had downloaded on his PC. Checking his download file, he found a job offer at the local gaming tavern for a cashier, offering a good, payable wage. The subject informed me, "It was as if God sent an angel to deliver me from my torment". SUBJECT: {DIALOGUE CHOICE} Thanks? WARDEN: You're welcome.
You just needed a little push to get you in the right direction, [REDACTED] Also, please go outside and do some exercises. You are miserable in your current state. You have much to live for, and there are a lot of people who care about you. Safe travels [REDACTED], know that your future will be blessed. > WALKS OFF AND DISAPPEARS INCIDENT 1 RESULT: [REDACTED] quit their current job as a department store cashier. He sub-sequentially became a cashier at a local board/card game tavern.
The subject's clinical depression was treated alongside their obesity and vitamin d deficiency. The subject is now the manager of this store and has a sizable social group. Subject also became highly religious and was baptized as a Protestant Christian 3 months later. He married the store owner's daughter 2 years later. As of 2025, they are happily married with 4 children. Additional notes: The subject during the interview had positive emotions when describing the warden to the interviewer.
The subject believes, as a result of his religious faith, that he was an angel sent by his deity. The subject as well says he returns to Lethe once a year on the very day he met the warden to immortalize the day. He takes the entire day off as a result. EDITOR'S NOTE: {Nothing much to edit here, but… John forgot to mention that the player in question is a moderator on Warden Watch. Oh! Also the fact John never interviewed him. He literally pulled it off Warden Watch and just called it a day. … Well, the next benevolent incident, he interviewed the player and corroborated his evidence with hers. He kind of drummed up the situation behind it, which is uh… wrong. … Uh, yeah, so my boss just told me that it wasn't that bad, as the interview was pretty respectful. Weird. I thought a guy like him would- … Never mind. Anyways, I'm skipping his "personal analysis" and going to the next incident} {SKIPPING VIDEO BY 4 MINUTES, 21 SECONDS}
