Lili repeated the same trick at the west and south gates. The defenders there were taken down in turn.
"Damn you, Luan! You traitor!"
"Filthy traitor!"
"What did Hestia Familia give you to make you stab your own companions in the back?"
"How blind was I to ever trust you?"
"Luan, I will not forgive you!" Lili listened to the insults with a wicked smile, opened the gates, and welcomed Sanemi and Tengen into the city. Tengen strolled in with his arms folded and laughed loudly.
"Hurry and support Captain," Sanemi said irritably.
"Next, we face Apollo Familia's main force. Our job is to hold them down and create an opening for Captain to fight their general."
"Got it. We will support Captain now. Let us not keep them waiting."
"You go first. Lili still has one more job." Lili ran off alone. Once no one could see her, she released her transformation.
"The bell that marks midnight has rung." After canceling the Magic, she used Cinder Ella again. This time, she transformed into Captain Hyakinthos.
"Hehe. Watch Lili turn you all upside down." With that wicked whisper, she ran toward the north gate. In the gods' spectator area, Apollo's eyes were bloodshot as he stared at the broadcast.
"Damn Luan! How dare he? How dare he bring the enemy in? Damn it!"
"Apollo, do you remember what you said earlier?" Hestia asked with a smile so bright it looked dangerous.
"W-what did I say?" Apollo's face had turned green. His voice lost all confidence, and he swallowed hard.
"You said I would lose my Familia and be sent back to Heaven. You have not forgotten, have you?" Hestia's twin-tails swayed like restless tentacles. Her fingers curled and uncurled with suspicious enthusiasm.
"T-the game is not over yet. Do not get too proud..." Apollo backed away, frightened enough that his nose began to run.
"Fine. We will wait for the result." Hestia smiled gently. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
"Ugh..." Apollo sniffled and shuddered.
"Damn Luan!" Hyakinthos, you had better be useful. If you fail, I am finished. Teach that traitor Luan a lesson. The aerial corridor leading to the general's hall was the only path to Hyakinthos's position. It was guarded as heavily as a gate, and several of Apollo Familia's strongest Lv. 2 adventurers had been assigned there.
"What?" Daphne's eyes widened when she heard the report.
"The enemy has already entered the city? How did they get inside?"
"We do not know. The scattered defenders have all been incapacitated. What should we do?"
"Honestly. With such tight defenses, did they fly in from the sky?" Daphne clenched her teeth and quickly gave orders.
"At this point, we cannot afford a mistake. We hold this corridor. Do not let anyone pass."
"Mages, prepare your Magic at all times. Front line, stay alert."
"Yes!" At that moment, Hyakinthos's voice rang out.
"Wait." Everyone turned.
"I just received word that Luan was bought off by Hestia Familia. He lied to his companions, moved the defenders away, and opened the gates himself."
"Captain Hyakinthos? Were you not..." The Apollo Familia members stared in confusion at the captain walking from the far side of the corridor. Was the captain not supposed to be in the general's hall? When had he gone out? Why had no one noticed?
"This is not the time to worry about that," the disguised Lili said with a strained expression.
"The enemy has entered from three directions and is gathering toward the north gate. We must stop them from joining forces, or we will be in serious trouble." She gave the order with decisive authority.
"Daphne, Cassandra, each of you take two teams and intercept them."
"Luan betrayed us?" Daphne was stunned. Then she hesitated at the order.
"If we leave this place..."
"I am a Lv. 3 adventurer," Lili said in Hyakinthos's haughty tone.
"Do I need you to protect me? Hestia Familia's strongest members are only Lv. 2, but if they unite and launch a full assault, things become troublesome. We defeat them in separate groups. Do you understand?"
"Understood. Please be careful, Captain." Daphne's expression turned serious. She took half the members and quickly ran toward the fighting.
"This is bad, this is bad," Cassandra whimpered.
"The prophecy came true. We are surrounded by terrifying beasts. We are going to be eaten. If only everyone had listened to me..." She left with her group, looking as if she might cry at any moment. Once the aerial corridor was empty, the "Hyakinthos" standing there broke into a twisted smile.
"Hehe. Hahaha. A bunch of fools. Lili played you all perfectly." Now she had to hurry and regroup with everyone. In a corridor leading toward the north gate, a dragon of flame crashed forward like a train, striking every Apollo Familia adventurer who rushed to stop it.
"Aaaah! We cannot block it!" Adventurers slammed into the walls and fell to the ground, clutching their arms and groaning in pain.
"Hah!" The fire dragon scattered, revealing Kyojuro Rengoku. He appeared before a Lv. 2 mage before the chant could finish and struck the mage in the stomach with the pommel of his sword. The mage's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed unconscious.
"H-how is this possible? He is only Lv. 2. How can he defeat so many people?" An elf adventurer's eyes widened in disbelief as he rushed at Kyojuro with a blade.
"Damn it! Do not get arrogant!" They crossed blades. One fell.
"Damn..." After that unwilling word, the elf fainted. Kyojuro shook the flames from his blade, sheathed it, and rushed toward the meeting point like a shooting star. At the north gate, Apollo Familia's defenders were in chaos.
"What is happening behind us?"
"What? The east, west, and south gates all fell? How?"
"Bastard, why are you opening the gate now?"
"Stop him!"
"The enemy is attacking from behind!" Cael looked at the panicking defenders on the wall, and the corner of his mouth lifted.
"Looks like checkmate." With a creak, the north gate slowly opened. A "stranger" in Apollo Familia colors waved at Cael.
"Hehe. Good work, Lili. You are the greatest contributor to this battle. After the War Game, I will reward you properly." Cael's eyes curved with amusement as he looked at Lili, then his expression gradually turned playful.
"Now we launch the real assault. The game truly begins. Apollo Familia, are you ready to learn fear?"
